Winter Coat Edit For Moms and Kids

Spread the love

Now that the weather has finally changed and the temps are getting colder, it’s time to break out the winter coats. As I looked through my coat closet, I realized I have started somewhat of a collection of coats over the years and I still love them all as much as I did when I first bought them. To me, spending on an investment piece, like a good quality coat, is essential if you live in a place where winter ravages for months. But I also realized amongst my investment coats, I have a lot of lower-priced coat options that I love equally from season to season. So, I put together a list of Save vs. Splurge coat options for this winter season. I own most of these coats and can vouch for their quality and style.

All of these coats are classic, simple, and stylish and will last you through multiple seasons. I am one for buying more muted colors for my coats so that I can dress them up with a colorful hat or scarf from season to season. The Splurge choices are truly investment pieces from places like J.Crew, Madewell, and Abercombie. But you can find similar looks of these exact coats from more save-worthy shops like Old Navy, Target, and American Eagle. You can shop each pick below.

If you’re looking for something more trendy, I have rounded up some of the latest trends in coats for Winter 2020 and found the save vs. splurge option. I personally love a good teddy coat and have jumped on the shacket train, even though I am sure this trend will be short-lived. Below are my top finds in trends: trench, leopard, teddy, plaid, and shackets. Shop these picks below.

With kid’s coats, it’s important not to spend too much since they grow out of them so easily. Luckily, there are so many great kids’ coat options at affordable prices from places like H&M, Zara, and Target. If you happen to have two kids that are the same gender, like me, you can always invest in a higher-priced, more durable coat and hand it down to the next kid! I have always bought a North Face, LL Bean, or more recently, Abercrombie coat for my older son, and then my younger son takes it over and we get a good 5 years out of each jacket! There are also great sales on coats as the season progresses so you can always buy on sale in a bigger size for next season. Shop these styles below:

One thing is for sure, winter is here for the next couple of months and if we are going to be cooped up inside or bundled up outside, we might as well look cute doing it!
