Spread the love

Every July, Nordstrom comes out with their annual Anniversary Sale and the blogger universe goes crazy! I will say, the last few years I have not been impressed with what the sale had to offer and was annoyed by the constant bombardment on my feed by bloggers in the Nordstrom dressing rooms. But, over the years, I have accumulated some great basics during this sale and as a teacher, I know that these staples in my wardrobe will be worn year after year. The sale is best for buying basics that you know you will wear time and time again at a discounted price. This year I was very deliberate in what I chose to put on my anniversary sale wish list and came up with three lists for you. Let me know what you find and what you end up buying!

For The Teacher Going Back To School

If I have to start thinking about going back to school, at least I can focus on some cute, new outfits. This year, the anniversary sale did have a bunch of good options for basic teacher fits. Especially in the shoe department. These slingback mules are giving me Sophie Richie vibes and the chunky loafer trend is still going strong. I am loving the suede Spanx leggings in this brown color and the grey trousers would be so comfy and on-trend with a pair of New Balance sneakers. My love for Farm Rio goes strong and I was so excited to see they had a dress on sale! Can’t wait to style it for the Fall. I need a new teacher tote and the Madewell classic transport tote with a fun strap is on my wishlist. Lastly, the sale is a great time to stock up on coats and this green one is calling my name!

For The Busy Mom On The Go

When I’m not in the classroom, you will find me in comfy clothes on the weekend and the Anniversary Sale always has some good choices for basics and athleisure staples that you will wear year after year. I have 3 pairs of the Nike Air Max 270 and when they go on sale, I take advantage! I love this new colorway and will be adding to my collection. The Spanx faux leather leggings are my go-to during the Fall and Winter because they can be dressed up or down, a staple you will always grab in your closet! One of the things that always goes on sale during the Anniversary Sale are Barefoot Dreams blankets. Hear me out, I know they are pricey, even with the sale, but we have 3 of them and everyone in my family fights over them! My son constantly steals them and hoards them in his bedroom. They really are that comfy and wear and wash well, even with kids and puppies! Other atheleisure picks like this cropped half-zip sweatshirt and Free People shorts will make your style look elevated when all you want to do is be comfy on the weekends. Another staple to stock up on during the sale are jeans and Mother Jeans are my fave. They are so soft and strethy but never stretch out. They are worth the splurge and when they are on sale, even better! I am going to give the wide-leg jeans a try with this Good American pair, which is a brand that always fits me so well and offers so many options in multiple sizes.

For Some Self Care

The other thing I stock up on from the Anniversary Sale are beauty products. They are often sold as sets and you can’t get many of these brands at discounted prices any other time. This year, I am going to give the Nuface a try with this mini version, after seeing so many people rave about it. I also want to try the LeLabo fragrance and this set will let me sample different smells to figure out which one I like the most. My favorite Charlotte Tillbury mascara comes in a two-pack and the Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads are a must for glowy skin and I always make sure to restock during the sale. My friend had this tub of Supergoop sunscreen at her pool party and it was so convenient and such a great price and if you want your house to smell like an Anthropologie store at all times, get the Pura machine with the Volcano scent, such a good deal!.
